I'll be running a fishbowl session (where panel members can be replaced with audience members who volunteer an opinion or story). The theme will be to tell tales of crazy search situations we've all found ourselves in, naming no names, and use these to illustrate why relevance tuning is hard, highly specific to the industry and situation you find yourself in, and often totally misunderstood by all concerned!
Charlie Hull is the co-founder and Managing Director of Flax (www.flax.co.uk), who have been building open source search and Big Data solutions for clients in the UK and worldwide since 2001. Charlie writes and blogs about search topics, runs the London Lucene/Solr Meetup and regularly speaks at and keynotes other search events across the world. He co-authored "Searching the Enterprise", published by Now Publications in 2017 with Professor Udo Kruschwitz.
