Haystack US: Explore Charlottesville
There are many great places to see in Charlottesville and we’ve therefore compiled a list of places to visit, eat at and enjoy while you are in town for Haystack.
The Venue: Vault
Located in the heart of Charlottesville, on the historic Downtown Mall, the “Vault” in the Bradbury building is a place of possibility, connection, and community.
Vault
300 E Main St
Charlottesville, VA 22902
United States
Vault Virginia and The Bradbury are located in a historic 1916 stone building on Charlottesville’s downtown pedestrian mall. Designed by renowned local architect Eugene Bradbury as headquarters for the People’s National Bank, the venue today showcases Jeffersonian classical revival style featuring large columns and bank vaults re-appropriated as art galleries and meeting space.
Main entry to The Bradbury and Vault Virginia is from the Downtown Mall. Haystack US 2026 will be held in the Vault Gallery which is at the far end of the old bank lobby and by the century-old vaults.
Ample parking is available one block behind in the Water St. Parking Garage, 200 E Water St.
Food & Drinks
Charlottesville takes its food and drink seriously. This list, while far from exhaustive, focuses on the Downtown Mall, the hub of Haystack 2026. If you enjoy eating and drinking well, search for more venues in and around downtown C’ville, Belmont, the UVa Grounds, and the surrounding countryside dotted with vineyards, cideries, and small-batch distillers. c-ville weekly has the most complete list. And The Charlottesville 29 offers its yearly ranking of the best in and around town.
